Arrest made at central Lawrence club

A 20-year-old Topeka man was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of battery, disorderly conduct and interfering with the duties of an officer. The man was arrested at 2:58 a.m. following a report of a disturbance at Club 821, 821 Iowa.

Police also arrested a 24-year-old Lawrence man Sunday morning at the bar.

The Lawrence man was arrested on charges of auto theft in connection with the report of a vehicle taken late Saturday night from the 500 block of Eldridge Street. The man was detained while attempting to leave the bar’s parking lot in the vehicle, a 2002 Nissan Altima.

Village Inn was cool but it is not the club that is bad it just a couple of people

What is it that makes this location so bad? Could it be the clientele they cater too? Is this not formerly Axis, Moon, etc, etc.? Just different names, same scummy people hanging out there? Long for the days it was a Village Inn, at least there was a lot less violence.

A disturbance an hour after bar close. Was it in the parking lot or is someone about to lose their liquor license.
