Lawrence Club Second: Lawrence Lions finished second in the 12th grade division at a basketball tournament last weekend in Topeka. Team members are Drake Debiasse, Seth Dirks-Ham, Cornelius Edwards, Nick Jaimez, Michael McCabe, Steven Melton, Matthew Montes de Oca and Marcus Ray. Marcus Tyner is the coach.

Three Tie for Top: Kit Grove, Conrad Roberts and Chad Roesler all fired two-under 70s and shared first place in the weekly Jayhawk Golf Club tournament Saturday at Alvamar. Tyler Cummins shot 75 and William Gantz 76. In net scoring, Bill Hamilton was low with a 66, followed by Tony Kovach 67, Tom Taylor 70, Ed Scholtes 70 and Travis Walsh 71.

Orchards Golf: Couples golf continues Friday nights at the Orchards Golf Course. There’s no sign-up. Just show up for the 6 p.m. nine-hole events, which include prizes and cookouts. Cost is $8 per person.
