County has 4th case of swine flu

A fourth case of swine flu has been confirmed in Douglas County.

This case involves an adult and was confirmed this week by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The adult was not hospitalized.

The county has had two other cases that involved adults and one case that involved a child.

Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department spokeswoman Lisa Horn said the child’s case has not been confirmed by KDHE, but has been confirmed by a local lab.

KDHE announced Wednesday that Jefferson County had its first case of swine flu. It also reported the number of confirmed cases statewide at 115.
