Lawrence street vendors are licensed by the city clerk’s office.

Only food, flowers or nonalcoholic beverages can be sold from a stand.

City code allows for one stand to be located on either the southwest or northeast corners of Massachusetts Street at Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and 10th streets. A stand also can be located on the west side of the 800 block of Massachusetts Street, near the mid-block crosswalk.

First-year vendors must pay $300 per year, plus $50 per month. Vendors who have renewed pay $200 per year, plus $50 per month.

The city has issued three permits for the year — one for the hot dog stand and two for shaved ice vendors.
