Topeka ? Andrew Allison has been named executive director of the Kansas Health Policy Authority.

Allison, 42, had been serving as acting director after the resignation of Marcia Nielsen, who stepped down to accept a faculty and administrative position with the Kansas University Medical Center.

Allison’s appointment was approved Wednesday by the KHPA board of directors.

KHPA manages the state’s Medicaid and State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
