Raiders salvage finale

? The Lawrence Raiders finished off the Mizzou Classic with a victory Sunday. The Raiders defeated the Rawlings Stars, 8-7, for their first win in the six-game tournament.

The Raiders lost their one-run lead, giving up three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but rallied to score three more runs in the top of the seventh.

“It’s easy to just roll over in the bottom of the sixth,” Raiders coach Wilson Kilmer said, “but they fought back and came right back and got three and held on to get the win.”

Bryan Kindle had an RBI double in the seventh, and Chris Parker, Ryan Scott and Nick Hassig each had singles for Lawrence.
