Raiders lose 2 at Mizzou Classic

? The Lawrence Raiders dropped their first two games at the Mizzou Classic on Thursday.

In the first game, Ryan Scott led Lawrence with a home run and two RBIs, but the Raiders fell, 8-2, to the Midwest Nationals.

Matt Abel also went 2-for-3 with a double.

In the second game, the Missouri Prospects defeated the Raiders, 16-5. Ryan Scott and Chris Parker keyed a rally for the Raiders, cutting the lead to 8-5 in the fifth inning. But Raiders’ misplays in the top of the seventh led to an eight-run inning for the Prospects.

Parker went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Scott finished with two RBIs and a double.

The Raiders (4-6) now face Tri City, Texas, at 9 a.m. today in Columbia, Mo.
