Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for June 5, 1909: “The athletic season has closed for the university and the athletic board has granted 225 K-letters to those who represented KU in the spring events of baseball, track and tennis. It was a larger number than usual. … Judge Dennis Dwyer who will head the construction company for the local electric line system today received from the Santa Fe Railway the first invoice of steel rails and other materials shipped from the East. The material ought to be here by next week.”
