Conservation district accepting applications

The Douglas County Conservation District will accept applications for State Cost Share Assistance for conservation practices from now through July 15. General funding categories include erosion and sediment control, riparian area protection, livestock waste management and pasture and rangeland management.

All applications will be ranked based on a water quality assessment, and funded accordingly.

The funding typically reimburses landowners 70 percent of a project cost, based on County Average Costs, and is provided by the State Conservation Commission through appropriation from the Kansas Water Plan Fund.
