A 37-year-old Lawrence man was arrested on charges of aggravated battery Thursday evening.
The man was arrested at the Community Drop-In Center, 214 W. 10th St., after an attack involving a bottle.
The arrest was made at 7:53 p.m.

If he was arrested at the Drop-In center he proprobably isn't a Lawrence resident!

skinny, how in the world do you know that? There are quite a few homeless who are natives of Lawrence, and I am sure they could produce the birth certificate to prove it.

Wow, someone arrested at the homeless shelter!! I am shocked! (sarcasm very much in play). It might be easier to report on any days where someone is NOT arrested at this shelter.

rouseau108 - while I agree with you, it might be more accurate to say it would be easier to say report on any days someone who lists the shelter as their address is NOT arrested. They do seem to travel around and get arrested at other places than the shelter. If you don't check the DGCO jail log, that sometimes is lost.
And to me that is the shame, because residents really aren't getting a clear picture of how much crime is caused by the "residents" of this place. While a lot of it happens there, there is a whole lot more out there that could be contributed to those "residents" or just people who list "transient" as their address on the booking page.

Great. And now our city council has increased the capacity of this place so that the current homeless can call their friends in other cities and tell them to come to Lawrence where they can live for free too.
