Overland Park ? An abducted infant has been found alive in a suburban Kansas City trash bin.

Police said the 4-month-old was taken around 2:45 a.m. Saturday after the child’s grandmother was stabbed during a robbery at her Overland Park apartment. The child was found a short time later in a nearby trash bin after someone reported hearing crying.

Both the infant and grandmother were taken to a hospital. Police described the baby’s injuries as minor and the grandmother’s as serious.

No arrests have been announced in the case. The grandmother told police she didn’t recognize the intruder.
