The American Contract Bridge League posted masterpoint awards for 17 local players at the Kansas City Sectional tournament July 10-12. The players earned a total of 43.90 master points. Elizabeth Jankford of Manhattan led with 7.37 master points. Craig Huneke and Jeremy Martin of Lawrence earned 4.76 points each. Other awards winners were Donna Munson, Patricia Lombardi, Vera Dickson, Julia Dalton, Robert Guenther, Janice Hollowell, Jolene Andersen, Dave Chipman, Vince Nordberg, Don Brennaman, Phyllis Brownlee, Jana Goodman, Shari Krentzel and Debbie Bettinger.
• Over the Rainbow Doll Club met July 9 at the home of Jan Dyer. Members discussed the program for their annual open meeting in September at Lawrence Public Library. A field trip is planned in the fall. The lesson was given on Wendy Lawton, her dolls, books, and as a literary agent. Lawton has been a dollmaker for 30 years. She has also received doll awards and been recognized for her creativity.

University Bridge Club announces results of its July 11 meeting, with hosts Dan and Carolyn Harden.
Blue winners were Rhetta Jo Noever, first; Dale Kring, second; Bebe Huxtable, third; Walt Hicks, fourth; and John Stark, fifth.
Pink winners were Wanda Kring, first; Ruth Harwood, second; Jo Anne Hicks, third; Florence McNicoll, fourth; and Willi Stark, fifth.
