The man suspected of shooting a Eudora man and then killing himself Saturday night has been identified as Eric Dan Stone, a 29-year-old firefighter from Ottawa.
Several people were outside to launch fireworks when the incident happened at a house in the 400 block of East 2000 Road, in a rural area northeast of Baldwin City.
Stone was found dead in the driveway of the home, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A sheriff’s spokesman said Stone shot a 34-year-old Eudora man in the back, before killing himself.
The Eudora man was treated and released from the hospital.

Eudora shooting? No, the address at which the shooting occurred was rural Baldwin City. One of the victims was from Eudora, but does that make it a Eudora shooting? No. Perhaps 'Suspect in shooting of Eudora man identified' would be more appropriate.

You're right. I changed it to what you suggested.

it's amazing that this place is only 2 or 3 miles from Baldwin
and probably about 12 miles south of Eudora and still has a Eudora address?

Critics, you worry more about the mis-spelling, puncuation, typos.
Have you surrendered all of your humanity of caring about the topic of the story, to your self centered feelings superiority?
One person commits suicide, and shoot another person in the back and your only comments are about the addresses... You are really pathetic.

At least the comments were based on information, not some wild speculation or unbased blame. I have little to say except when you think of killing someone else, don't.

Part of knowing *what* happened is also knowing to whom, when, and *where* it happened, reported as accurately as possible.
This is a sad event, but Cheeseburger's comment is justified, with no surrendering of humanity necessary.

I sure hope his wife and 3 kids weren't there to witness this. How traumatic for them!!
My condolences to the family.

Ottawa newspaper released the shooter's name several days ago. His funeral was yesterday!
Strange that neither newspaper has released the name of the Eudora man that was shot.
