Acreage reporting deadline extended

Jack Salava, acting state executive director of USDA’s Kansas Farm Service Agency, announces the acreage reporting deadline of Aug. 1 has been extended to Aug. 14.

Aug. 14 is now the deadline to report acreage of spring seeded crops, Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), Non-insurance Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) and also applies to prevented planting and failed acreage reports. Late-filed fees will apply after Aug. 14.

For NAP purposes, producers are required to file an acreage report by Aug. 14, but no later than 15 calendar days before the onset of harvest.

Aug. 14 is also the deadline to apply for the Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program (DCP) and the Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) Program. No late-filed applications will be accepted.
