Under a Pfizer program called Maintain, unemployed adults and immediate family members can get medications for up to a year or until they become employed, whichever comes first. There are more than 70 prescription drugs available including Lipitor, Viagra, Relpax, Glucotrol and Zoloft. To qualify, an individual must have become unemployed in 2009 and must have been taking a Pfizer medicine for at least three months before losing their jobs and enrolling in the program. They must also lack prescription drug coverage and be willing to attest to financial hardship. Applicants are being asked to complete a one-page form and provide proof of unemployment.
