Bartlesville, Okla. — Late to bed but early to rise, the Lawrence Raiders claimed two Legion baseball victories Sunday to conclude the Glen Winget Tournament.
The Raiders beat Joplin, Mo., 9-1, in a game that, because of rain, was pushed back to start at 1 a.m. Sunday.
Then after a couple of hours of sleep, the Raiders (10-14) returned for an 8 a.m. game and beat upcoming zone foe Blue Valley West, 8-2.
Against Joplin, Tanner Kilmer — who was named to the all-tournament team —allowed one run off two hits over the full run-rule-shortened five innings.
Against BVW, Drew Noble earned the win.
