From the Lawrence Daily World for Jan. 28, 1909: As four girls who live in the 800 block of Connecticut were returning from a party Tuesday night, four young men tried to follow them home and force their attentions upon them. The girls called police, the young ‘sports’ fled and their trail is hot. … Three Lawrence dairies were given top sanitary ratings by official inspectors yesterday and one of the visitors said Lawrence is getting the best milk in the state from the three sources.”
