Nutrient management for soil to be discussed

K-State Research and Extension-Douglas County will host “Ask The Experts All About Soil Fertility and Fertilizers” in two presentations on Feb. 12. The first will be at 10 a.m. at the Douglas County Extension Office in Lawrence, and the second is at 1:30 p.m. at the Frontier Farm Credit Office at the junction of U.S. Highways 56 and 59 on Feb. 12.

Topics for discussion may include fertilizer needs for crops, types of fertilizers, use of manures, micronutrients, costs of fertilizers, fertilizer economics, methods of application, fertilizer recommendations and soil testing.

Three Kansas State University agronomy extension specialists, David Mengel, Ruiz Diaz Dorivar and Stu Duncan, will be available to share research-based information and answers.
