Olathe Christian sweeps Veritas

? John Hicks scored 18 points for the Veritas Christian boys basketball team, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles fell, 66-53, at Olathe Christian on Friday.

“They’re a very athletic, talented team, and we knew we were going to have to play one of our best games to come out on top,” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said.

Bennett said Nate and Ethan Scott played well for the Eagles.

“Olathe puts a lot of pressure baseline to baseline,” Bennett said. “They (Scotts) took care of ball really well.”

Veritas fell to 2-8.

Olathe made it a clean sweep with a 60-19 victory in the girls game.

Becky Finger led Veritas (1-8) with four points.

The Eagles will travel Monday to McLouth.
