Federal grand jury indicts Abilene man for credit union robbery

A federal grand jury has indicted an Abilene man for a robbery last month at a Lawrence credit union.

The U.S. Attorney’s office secured an indictment on a bank robbery charge last week for 38-year-old David N. Hause, who was arrested in December in Kansas City, Kan.

If convicted, Hause faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.

Prosecutors allege that on Dec. 12 Hause took about $7,650 from a teller at Midwest Regional Credit Union, 1015 W. Sixth St., and then fled. Federal agents arrested him about a week later outside a Kansas City, Kan., hotel.

Hause also faces charges in Nebraska for an alleged bank robbery in 2007.
