KU golfer Gockel in 26th at tournament

Sebring, Fla. — Kansas University junior golfer Meghan Gockel is tied for 26th place midway through the Harder Hall Women’s Invitational.

The Dallas native fired rounds of 76 and 79 to open the tournament. Gockel’s 155 total placed her 16 shots off the pace set by Central Florida’s Amelia Lewis, who registered rounds of 71 and 68 en route to a 139 two-round total.

Recent winners of the tournament include current LPGA standouts Christie Kerr (1995), Natalie Gulbis (2001) and Morgan Pressel (2005).
