Johnson County Sheriff’s officers arrested eight people Friday morning at a De Soto business and another person in Olathe as part of an alleged identity theft ring.

Master Deputy Tom Erickson, a sheriff’s spokesman, said seven people were arrested on identity theft charges and two other men were arrested on charges of dealing false identification documents. The suspects will await the filing of formal charges.

The investigation began in October, and eight of the suspects were arrested at Engineered Air in De Soto. Agents with the Kansas Department of Revenue, federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers and the Johnson County district attorney’s office assisted in the investigation and arrests.

Erickson said the De Soto business is not being investigated for any illegal activity.

The people suspected in the identity theft ring are accused of using the stolen documents.

County and federal officials are still trying to determine whether the suspects are illegal immigrants, Erickson said.

I'm sure the Natives were thinking the same thing about all these ships with white faces and strange talk descended upon them. Immigrants are our greatest threat? To whom? None of us would even be over here if our anscestors hadn't packed their crap and dumped themselves on our soil. Whine, whine, whine and all the while you can buy alcohol from anywhere even convenience stores( some run by immigrants..but not most) in some places they actually have Drive-thru liqour stores or purchase illegal drugs which are a greater risk. Where ammo is plentiful but sentencing is rather lax. Where we are cursed with not one, but TWO Bush's seeing 1600 Penn. And immigrants are our gratest threat? Just take one day to actually look around and you might be surprised. Oh, yeah I am also a victim of ID theft and it was an illegal immigrant, but I still don't feel as troubled as I do about Pickled beets.

The greatest threat to U.S. security are illegal immigrants. It is estimated that 12-30 million people are in the United States illegally. We HAVE to control our ports and borders. Those who are here illegally should be deported. This has nothing to do with nationality either. We simply can't afford for these people to be here. The State of California alone reported expenses of over 11 billion dollars spent last year to take care of illegal immigrants there.

Giving anything to illegal immigrants that is a privilege for our citizens or that they have to earn, is a slap in the face to U.S. citizens and devalues U.S. citizenship. I will never be able to comprehend the line of thinking that wants to do that.

It'd be such a shock to find out that illegals were involved! They're all so cuddly and trustworthy! They could never be criminals!
