Haskell women’s winning streak ends

? Justina George and Kortney Smith scored 16 points apiece, but Haskell Indian Nations University’s eight-game women’s basketball streak ended Saturday. The Indians fell to College of the Ozarks, 68-60.

Haskell trailed the nation’s fourth-ranked team by just one point, 27-26, at halftime.

“We didn’t play bad,” Haskell coach Phil Homeratha said. “We were with them.”

Haskell (15-8 overall, 8-4 MCAC) will play Peru (Neb.) State in the MCAC Tournament on Friday night in Port Lookout, Mo.
