Ice Skate Standout: Allie Kutz, a ninth grader at South Junior High, is a member of the Kansas City-based Go Figure Imperial Ice synchronized skating team that will compete in the national championship in April in Chicago. A recital will be at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Line Creek Arena.

LHS-FSHS Ducats: Tickets for the Lawrence-Free State basketball games on Feb. 27 at LHS will go on sale Monday at the school finance office. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Pancake Day: The 60th annual version of the American Legion’s Pancake Day will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at Legionacres II, 3408 W. Sixth Street. Proceeds from the event will go to support the city’s legion baseball teams. Post No. 14 is looking for volunteers to work the event and donations to help offset the cost.
