Fire update

Fire investigators haven’t determined the cause of a Friday afternoon fire that totaled a Lawrence musician’s mobile home, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical Division Chief Rob Kort said Monday.

“They’re waiting for some test results,” he said.

Firefighters were called about 12:35 p.m. Friday to the fire at Brookwood Mobile Home Park, 1908 E. 19th St., Lot E11. Kort said the fire caused $15,000 in damage to the home and contents inside.

The mobile home belonged to Ben Allen, 48, who said he had been away for about 45 minutes before he returned to the blaze.
