4-H and FCE news

Kanwaka FCE met Tuesday at the home of Aliene and David Bieber, 533 Lindley Drive.

Mary Ann Strong presented the lesson, “Someone’s In the World Being Green.”

Grace and Faith Baxter gave a talk on their beef project during the Feb. 4 Palmyra 4-H Club meeting Feb. 4. The report covered a variety topics from taking care of a calf’s basic needs to the challenging tasks of preparing for contests. The Baxter sisters also shared humorous stories about washing manure from the pens.

Club members practiced for the upcoming Club Days which will begin at 8 a.m. today at the Dreher 4-H Building on the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Members can participate in a variety of activities including: model meeting, project talks, demonstration, skits, and many others.

Vinland FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mariann Bradley, 2015 N. 700 Road, Eudora. The lesson “A Child Is Asking, Take Me To The Movies,” will be given by Mary Lou Brown.
