KU Hospital program to open addition

A new 7,500-square-foot addition for Kansas University Hospital’s Blood and Marrow Transplant Program is set to open Monday.

The new area on the hospital’s Westwood campus will feature seven exam rooms, 10 treatment areas, five limited-access rooms, two nursing stations, a consultation room, team center and offices, according to a release.

The hospital’s blood and marrow transplant program is adding the new space after reporting 94 percent growth in 2007 and 52 percent growth in 2008.
