Kansas golf in 14th place

After two days of play, the Kansas University golf team was in 14th place out of 17 teams at the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational entering today’s final round.

Kansas shot a second-round team total of 314 after a first-round 309 for a two-day total of 623.

KU senior Walt Koelbel paced KU with a second-round 75 and is tied for 62nd place individually.

Freshman Blake Giroux, who was tied for fifth place individually after his 70 on day one, shot an 88 and is tied for 75th after two rounds.

Freshman Ian Anson improved on his score by five strokes from day one to shoot a 78 and is tied for 83rd place. Senior Andrew Storm shot his second-consecutive 83 and is tied for 90th place.

USC (569) has the team lead and is ahead of Washington (573) by four strokes.
