Rose Lawson, Baldwin City, will celebrate her 90th birthday with a potluck dinner with family at The Lodge in Baldwin City on Sunday. Rose Nichols was born Dec. 28, 1919, near Vinland. She taught at Washington Creek and Pleasant Valley grade schools before marrying Murray Lawson in 1945. They lived on a dairy farm at Vinland for more than 40 years and raised five children.
