Suspect arrested in shooting death

? A 32-year-old Emporia man is facing murder charges in the shooting death Sunday of Jose Leyva Arroyo, also of Emporia.

Jimmy Anthony Dominguez was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Thursday on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He was taken into custody after an Emporia Police Department SWAT team “extricated him” from a home.

In addition to Arroyo’s death, Dominguez is accused of shooting 28-year-old Juan Jose Rosales.

Police Chief Gary Smith says the shooting stemmed from an altercation at a dance Saturday night. The two men were shot hours later at Arroyo’s home when they stepped out of the garage, where they had been drinking.

Smith said at least one more arrest is expected.
