Holidays may bring violence for some; Kansas attorney general releases resources available for help

For most families, the holidays are a joyful time.

Unfortunately for some, it is not. This time of year brings stress, anger and even violence.

According to Kansas Attorney General Steve Six, domestic violence-related fatalities are on the rise in Kansas.

“With economic stress and financial pressure, many more families may be in crisis,” Six said in a news release. “It is critical that each of us work to ensure that families in our communities have access to quality services. Domestic violence impacts all Kansas communities.”

If you or someone you know is struggling with abuse, seek assistance from law enforcement or a domestic violence program. Individuals can call 1-888-END-ABUSE for assistance.
