Wichita ? Dodge City Globe reporter Claire O’Brien, ordered to reveal confidential sources and to testify about a jailhouse interview of a murder suspect, says she would go to jail rather than disclose the information.

The judge ruled that the information held by the reporter must only be “relevant” to a criminal case for it to be subject to discovery.

In the past, judges had applied a balancing test to rule whether the need for information outweighed the reporter’s privilege of confidentiality.
