4-H news

December 19, 2009

The Clinton Eagles 4-H Club’s Dec. 5 meeting was at Clinton Presbyterian Church and was called to order by Kirstyn Heine, president. Roll call was answered by “What is your favorite dessert?” Aubrey Goscha and Kiera Snodgrass led the club in singing “Jingle Bells,” Deck the Halls,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Morgan Manger, secretary, read the minutes from the last meeting. Tessa Lieber read the treasurer’s report.

Lanaea Heine, community leader, talked about the Bromelsick party, Project Skill-A-Thon, Bowling Mixer, 4-H Club Days, and Livestock Judging Expo. Opportunities to attend “The Aluminum Show” at the Lied Center in February and a T-Bones game later in 2010 were also discussed.

During old business, it was reported the Gingerbread House meeting was successful. The Clinton Eagles’ float for the Maple Leaf Parade won first place. After the meeting, members went caroling around the town of Clinton and met back at the church for dinner and a gift exchange. The next meeting will be on Jan. 25 at Wakarusa Valley School.
