Army Reserve Spec. John-Francisco A. Marino has returned to the United States after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Marino, a wheeled vehicle mechanic, is a member of the 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, based in Tulsa, Okla. He has served in the military for more than two years.

The specialist, a 2007 graduate of Lawrence High School, is the son of Oscar Marino, Lawrence.
