KCK teen sentenced in random homicide

? A boy who was 13 when he shot and killed a man he didn’t know was given the maximum juvenile sentence for first-degree murder.

A Wyandotte County judge sentenced Antwuan Taylor on Thursday to the Juvenile Correctional Facility until he is 22 1/2 years old.

Taylor, now 15, pleaded guilty last month in the shooting death of 47-year-old Charles McElroy of Kansas City, Kan.

Police say Taylor was given a gun by a woman who asked him if he wanted to shoot someone.

The woman allegedly drove Taylor around on April 19, 2008, until they found McElroy.

Taylor would serve an adult sentence of life in prison with no possibility of parole if he does not successfully complete his juvenile sentence.
