Topeka Kansas congressmen Jerry Moran and Todd Tiahrt are touting rival endorsements as they seek the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.
Moran has now been endorsed by former Missouri Sen. Jim Talent. Moran had already received the backing of six current senators.
Meanwhile, Tiahrt's campaign announced endorsements from four conservative leaders. They include Mathew Staver, founder of the Florida-based Liberty Counsel legal group.
Tiahrt was endorsed earlier by former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft.
Moran represents the sprawling 1st Congressional District of western and central Kansas. Tiahrt represents the 4th District.
Both hope to succeed Sen. Sam Brownback, who's running next year for governor.
