J.R. Demby opened The Demby Group LLC, a full-service energy auditing company, in August. Since its opening, the company has completed projects in Lawrence, Shawnee, Olathe, Baldwin City and Lecompton. The Demby Group does residential and small- to medium-sized commercial energy audits. Additionally, the company provides Energy Star ratings and Energy Efficient Tax Credit ratings for new home builders.

Demby has completed training in home energy rating, commercial energy auditing, combustion gas training, applied thermography and lead safe work practices. He is a member of Residential Energy Services Network and has chosen Guaranteed Watt Saver Inc., a nationally recognized energy services provider, as his quality assurance company.
