K.C. resident from Sudan helps country
Kansas City, Mo. ? A refugee from Sudan who has settled in Kansas City says he wants to do what he can to help his war-torn country.
Gabriel Kuer is one of thousands of Sudanese children forced from their land and marched across the country when civil war tore it apart in the 1980s.
Now a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kuer last year started Imagine Sudan, a foundation to raise money to educate Sudanese children. This year, he organized the first Kansas City area convention of Dinka Bor (his tribe in southern Sudan).
