The Lawrence Humane Society is seeking volunteers for its largest annual fundraiser in October.

The 15th annual Pawsible Dream Benefit Auction will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Lawrence Holidome, 200 McDonald Drive.

Midge Grinstead, the shelter’s executive director, said the shelter is seeking about 25 volunteers to help set up before the event from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. Also, 25 to 30 volunteers are needed to help with registration and work during the auction that night.

The event generally draws about 500 people. The live auction will feature vacation and airfare packages, sports tickets and other prizes.

Grinstead said the goal is to raise $80,000 for shelter operations.
