University Bridge Club announces results of its Aug. 8 meeting, with hosts Al and Carol Smith, Ruth Harwood and Bebe Huxtable.

Blue winners were Al Smith, first; Dale Kring, second; Virginia Williams, third; Roz Zimmerer, fourth; and Mary Jo Spotts, fifth.

Pink winners were Carolyn Jordan, first; Wanda Kring, second; Lois Liebert, third; Hazel Stellmacher, fourth; and Myrna Ikenberry, fifth.


The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 5 was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Shirley Reese and Lois Clark, first in A and B; Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges, second in A and B; Bobby Patton and Harry Shaffer, third in A; Chris Lane and Jan O’Connor, third in B; Earle Core and Albert Ballard, first in C; and Jack Flickinger and Jean Khatib, second in C.

East-West winners were Madelyn Jenks and Virginia Seaver, first in A; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, second in A; and Angie Davidson and Patricia Lechtenberg, third in A, first in B, and first in C.


The Thursday Morning Mentor Duplicate Club’s game on Aug. 6 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Jack Flickinger and Virginia Seaver, first in A; Mary Cornwell and Jean Khatib, second in A and first in B; Florine Creek and Nita Scales, third in A and second in B; and Barbara McCorkle and Nancy Dorsey, fourth in A and third in B.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 7 was directed by Virginia Seaver. Winners were Virginia Seaver and Sally Taylor, first in A; Lois Jones and James Masilamani, second in A; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, third in A; Chris Lane and Yvonne Hedges tied fourth in A and first in B with Dick Shaffer and Jack Flickinger; Eldon Herd and Charles Hedges, third in B; and Jan O’Connor and Nita Scales, second in C.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 10 was directed by Virginia Seaver. Winners were Dave Chipman and Jerry Sloan, first in A; Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, second in A; Donna Johnson and James Masilamani, third in A; Eldon Herd and Mary Fenlon, fourth in A; and John Fittell and Adelaide Nyquist, first in B and C.
