40 years ago: Little public comment at city budget meeting

Only five people spoke up at the public hearing on the city budget for 1970. It was to incur a 4.81-mill levy hike. The total mill levy was to be 38.656 for city residents. After brief discussion, the city commission voted approval.

Judging from the manner in which all the pork in the City budget is rubber-stamped, not much has changed in forty years.
