A longtime Kansas University public administration professor and administrator has been named the university’s interim vice provost for academic affairs.

Interim Provost Danny Anderson named Barbara Romzek to the post on Monday. She had been serving as an associate dean for social and behavioral sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

She also served as interim dean of the college from 2005 to 2006.

The vice provost position had been vacant since Anderson left it to become interim provost earlier this year.
