Tour offers peek at unique Dole artifacts

Want to see a bottle of wine enameled with Bob Dole’s political achievements?

The public will get that opportunity during a tour at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Dole Institute of Politics. The bottle will be part of the new Staff Choice exhibit at the Dole Institute.

The 30-minute tour will give participants a behind-the-scenes look at the Dole Institute’s reading room, archival processing and stacks.

Other artifacts available for viewing in the exhibit include a beaded cummerbund and Dole’s 1996 presidential nomination acceptance speech.

To make tour reservations, contact Judy Sweets, media and exhibits archivist, at 864-1420 or e-mail her at asweets@ku.edu.

Each month, the Dole Institute hosts White Glove Tours of the Dole Archive and Special Collections. These tours each feature different exhibits.
