Ottawa still unbeaten

? Ottawa’s American Legion baseball express continued to roll Thursday.

Ottawa’s unblemished record grew to 44-0 with an 11-2 thumping of Ripon, Wis., in the Legion AA Midwest Regional.

Second baseman Blake Hiatt paced Ottawa’s 12-hit attack with three hits, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Catcher Chase Dengel, pitcher Jake Moore and first baseman Roy Hawkins added two hits apiece.

Ottawa erased any suspense with a nine-run explosion in the second inning as it advanced to a winners-bracket meeting today against Eden Valley-Watkins, Minn.

Moore hurled all seven innings, scattering seven hits. He gave six singles, and a home run to Ripon first baseman Michael Polcyn in the second.
