Nancy Kassebaum appeared to be cruising effortlessly toward meeting her campaign financing goals while her Democratic challenger, Jim Maher of Overland Park, had raised only $100 from outside sources. The Kassebaum treasury already had topped $92,000 for the first quarter alone and her total war chest surpassed $207,000.
