KU tennis falls to A&M

Yuliana Svistun provided the only singles victory on the day for Kansas University’s tennis team, and the Jayhawks fell to 35th-ranked Texas A&M, 6-1, on Senior Day on Sunday at First Serve Tennis Center.

Kansas finished its regular season with an overall record of 10-12 and a 4-7 mark in the Big 12. Texas A&M improved to 13-9 and 9-2 in the conference.

KU’s Edina Horvath and Kate Morozova won at No. 1 doubles, but A&M won the doubles point.

It marked the end of the KU regular-season careers for seniors Horvath and Svistun.

Horvath lost her No. 1 singles match to Elze Potgeiter, 6-1, 7-6 (4). Svistun beat Christi Liles, 6-1, 6-7 (8-6), 10-1 at No. 3.

The Jayhawks will travel to Norman, Okla., for the Big 12 Championships, which run Thursday through Sunday.
