Kid reads: ‘The Ghost, the White House and Me’

“The Ghost, the White House, and Me” is a funny book that takes place in — you guessed it, the White House!

The book is about Katherine “KayKay” Granger and her sister, Ann, known as Annie.

The girls’ mom, Margaret Granger, is president, and although Annie and KayKay dislike the press, they enjoy living in the White House.

KayKay’s acquaintance, Borden Williamson, whose grandfather was previously president, slept in the Lincoln Bedroom, and he swore he saw Abe Lincoln! KayKay wants to sleep in the bedroom, too, but her mother won’t let her, although President Granger lets KayKay’s Uncle Matt sleep in Lincoln’s bedroom.

KayKay, along with a reluctant Annie, try to play a genius prank on Uncle Matt the night he said he would sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom.

But is their plan truly fool-proof?

“The Ghost, the White House, and Me” is a great book that I would recommend for about ages 9 to 12.
