Police are looking for suspects in separate stabbings that sent two Lawrence men to the hospital Saturday morning.

The first incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. outside Cross Town Tavern, 1910 Haskell Ave. Lawrence Police Sgt. Michael McLaren said the fight started as a verbal argument outside the bar before the suspect stabbed a 32-year-old Lawrence man.

The victim was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with lacerations to his left forearm and left eyebrow. As of Saturday morning, police were still seeking a suspect.

Police received a second stabbing call at 8:38 a.m. Saturday. Sgt. Craig Shanks said the victim, a 36-year-old Lawrence man, reportedly arrived at LMH with a stab wound. The man was then transferred to a Kansas City-area hospital.

“It’s very early in the investigation, but it appears to be the result of a domestic dispute,” Shanks said. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Alabama Street, he said. Details about the man’s injuries were not available.

Shanks said police were speaking with a 36-year-old Lawrence woman who was at the residence during the incident.
