Free State High senior Jack Caywood is one of 11 scholar athletes from the state who will be honored Wednesday at the 16th annual Sunflower Chapter National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Banquet.

In addition to recognizing the 11 scholar-athletes, who own a combined Grade-Point-Average of 4.03, the foundation will honor Blue Valley High football coach Steve Rampy as the Don Fambrough Coach of the Year and Topeka’s Rene Poort as the official of the year.

Former Kansas University All-American and Chicago Bears great Bobby Douglass will be the featured speaker at Wednesday’s banquet.

The event, which is set to begin at 6:30 p.m., is open to the public for a cost of $30 per person.
