Final Skillbuilders programs announced

Senior Outreach Services of the Lawrence Public Library is host to Skillbuilders programs, which offer emotional and physical support to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one.

These are the final three programs — which will be 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the library’s Gallery Room, 707 Vt.:

May 7 — “Searching for Peace” by Linda Upstill of Rumey-Yost Funeral Home.

May 14 — “Healthy Eating for One” by Susan Krumm, of the Douglas County K-State Research and Extension office.

May 21 — Remembrance and celebration. Participants are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.

Free door-to-door transportation is available by calling Douglas County Senior Services at 842-0543. Skillbuilders is sponsored by the library’s Senior Outreach Services, Douglas County Senior Services and Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care.

The Skillbuilders programs are offered for 12 weeks in the fall and spring. If you have an idea for a topic, contact Pattie Johnston, Senior Outreach Services coordinator, at 843-3833, Ext. 115.
